Dave KerZner All Star Prog Band, Steps Up To Round Out RoSFest as Sunday Headliner

Dave KerZner All Star Prog Band, Steps Up To Round Out RoSFest as Sunday Headliner

Music. Culture. Community. The festival’s motto. And never could it have proved to be more appropriate than now.

When King’s X found themselves forced to cancel, after realizing that even daily physio was not going to suffice to get Ty Tybor’s fret finger back into good enough shape to prepare properly for their performance at this year’s RoSFest, the festival organizers found themselves in a bit of a fix.

But ‘community’ is a keyword for the annual Rites Of Spring Festival, and a group of musicians, captained by Dave Kerzner stepped up to ensure that the weekend’s entertainment would not be marred by a gaping hole in the line-up.

Sunday night’s headliner spot will now feature Dave KerZner and his newly formed All Star Prog Band featuring world-famous session man, Fernando Perdomo (Carmine Appice, Out to Sea, Echo in the Canyon…), Durga McBroom (Pink Floyd, Steve Hackett, Blue Pearl…), Billy Sherwood (Yes, Arc of Life, Circa, Asia…), Nick D’Virgilio (Big Big Train, Spock’s Beard, The Fringe, Genesis…). Dave also promises to surprise the audience with a magnificent set-list and a few surprises, and special guests.

RoSFest is set to end with a fantastic party atmosphere for musicians, fans and organizers!

Head With Wings replace Arc Iris on the 2022 line-up

Head With Wings replace Arc Iris on the 2022 line-up

When Arc Iris found themselves forced to pull out of this year’s RoSFest, the Board of Directors went immediately to work on selecting a replacement act that wouldn’t leave attendees disappointed.

Described by Progradar as “storytellers of sound”, Connecticut band, Head With Wings, skillfully combine the ambitious progressive rock of the ‘70s with the alternative rock of the ‘90s/early 2000s, creating soundscapes which capture and envelope the listener. Stunning vocals flow over clever arrangements which will have you closing your eyes as you fly away on a musical journey.

Head With Wings represents a fantastic addition to a line-up of superb acts put together by six stalwart supporters of live music who fearlessly undertook to save RoSFest from the jaws of oblivion in a world plagued by uncertainty.
The show must go on!

RoSFest appoints the festival’s official photographer

RoSFest appoints the festival’s official photographer

Over the last seven or so months, the RoSFest Board of Directors has been faced with the arduous task of making a multitude of decisions; some relatively easy, some not so! That said, selecting the festival’s official photographer was definitely one of the easiest! Florida-based, Joel Barrios, is a familiar face to many of you, and not just our RoSFest regulars, others will have seen him in action at ProgStock, Prog-Power USA, Cruise to the Edge… But his concert photography and talents don’t stop there, as a highly recommended visit to his website will tell you.

Joel doesn’t just photograph what happens on stage, he captures the energy and the essence of the live performance, and in so doing every image echoes his own passion for the live experience. His offstage photography and graphic design are equally inspired as can be seen from his many projects (Joel has worked with the likes of Mike Portnoy, Neal Morse, Flying Colors, Spock’s Beard and many more besides).
His warm and generous nature, his professional attitude, and the way he interacts with his fellow human beings make him one of the finest people anyone could wish to know, and we are proud to have him as a member of our team.

Joel’s portrait was captured in a single shot by his daughter, Gabriela. No Photoshop wizardry, just Joel’s meticulous attention to detail in staging the sitting.
